Here is a plain comparison of Testers Community and ClosedTest. It uses only what each service says on its own pages, read on 26 October 2026, with links. We run ClosedTest, so we are not neutral. We say where Testers Community is stronger, and we ask you to confirm everything on its pages before you pay. Google's rule is in its testing requirements.
At a glance
| Testers Community | ClosedTest | |
|---|---|---|
| Price (one-time, per app) | $15 for 15 testers (Starter), $25 for 25 (Pro). A detailed QA report is a $40 add-on per submission | $19 for 12 testers, $29 for 16, $39 for 20 |
| How testers join | Says through a Google Group | Your choice: an email list or a Google Group |
| What you see | Says a dashboard that shows the opt-in count, testers' feedback, and pre-filled answers for the production access form | A dashboard with daily check-ins, screenshots and notes, and a final report with a summary of what your test recorded. The answers are yours to write |
| If Google refuses | Says "approved for production access, or your money back" | A free re-run first, then a refund if that also fails, under the conditions on our refund page |
| Extras | A free app where developers test each other's apps to earn credits. States that wrapper apps (Trusted Web Activity) are not accepted | Pro testers who write detailed notes in the larger plans |
| Its own numbers | Reports 4.9/5 from developers and 10,000+ apps published. These are its own figures | We publish counts from our own records on the testing results page |

Where Testers Community is stronger
- Price per tester. $15 for 15 testers is lower than our $19 for 12.
- A simple refund promise. Its wording is "approved, or your money back". If you want the simplest promise, that is it. Read its refund policy for the exact conditions, which we have not reviewed in detail.
- A free route. Its developer exchange costs time instead of money.
- Pre-filled form answers. It says it gives you pre-filled answers for the production access form.
- A stated start time. It says testers begin joining within 6 hours.
Where ClosedTest is different
- Daily evidence. Every tester checks in each day with a screenshot, and you can open each record.
- Pro testers. Detailed notes of 15 words or more from selected testers in the larger plans. See tester engagement.
- Public numbers. We show completed-run counts and published results, and explain what they do and do not mean in what 1,495 tester assignments show.
- No promise of approval. Google decides, and our refund is narrower than "or your money back".
Which should you choose?
| If you want | Look at |
|---|---|
| The lowest price and the simplest refund promise | Testers Community |
| A free route | Its developer exchange, or do it yourself |
| Daily proof of what testers did, in a report | ClosedTest |
Questions to ask both
- How many testers are above 12, and what do they do if one goes quiet?
- What exactly does the refund cover, and what does it exclude?
- Do they ever need your Play Console password? (They should not.)
- What do you receive at the end?
